In the early evening we took a taxi over to Waikiki beach and went swimming. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the beautiful beach. The view of Diamond Head was impressive. We walked around quite a bit and could not help but do some shopping and we even caught a little bit of a luau – a little hula dancing makes every day brighter. We ended up across the street from the International Marketplace to have dinner at Chuck’s Steak House. The restaurant is on the second floor and we sat out on the balcony with a wonderful view of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head (although it was getting dark). Dinner was great and allowed us to relax for a little bit. Afterwards, we took a stroll through the International Marketplace. David tried to take underwater photos of the koi in the pond but it was too dark. On our way out, we met a man on the street with a couple parrots… who proceeded to start putting the birds on Laura. He ended up putting the pretty birds on both of us and took a number of photos. Laura loved this spontaneous animal encounter!
